The late Omatie “Oma” Ramdial grew up in Penal, Trinidad. Omatie, who was 36 years old at the time of her death. She was a very hardworking and a dedicated mother of two, a girl 13 years and a boy 9 years old. She had completed her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and attained first class honors and was currently pursuing her final year of ACCA, her dream was to become a successful Accountant.

She loved to dress up in traditional Indian wear, as many people would tell her she looked like a Bollywood movie star.

On the night of April 1st, 2022, Omatie was approached by her husband who chopped her to death in the presence of their children at their family home in Barrackpore, Trinidad after she decided to file for divorce due to her husband’s infidelity. They both had been married for 14 years.

He then fled and consumed a poisonous substance, where he later died.
