Alla Daher

Murdered on Thursday, January 20th, 2011
She was 19 years old.

Alla was studying medicine in Moldova. While on vacation in Israel, she went to visit her older sister in Ramla.

When she failed to arrive, Alla’s sister called their mother and asked where she was. The mother replied that Alla was on her way to Ramla.

Some hours later, Alla’s sister read online that a young woman had been murdered in a taxi in Ramla. That evening, the police arrived at the family home with the most horrific news imaginable.

During her vacation in Israel, Alla's partner objected that she would return to her studies in Moldova. He insisted that she would stay and marry him. When she refused, he forcefully took away her passport. Alla and her mother filed a complaint with the Haifa police, but the case was not processed and was ultimately closed. Alla was a clever, ambitious girl, vivacious and smiley. She dreamt of becoming a doctor and excelled in her studies. She wore the hoodie before every test, it was her lucky outfit. Alla's pants were worn by her sister in memory of her, and now they are hanging next to the white robe from medical school in Moldova, to which she did not return.

She had her bag with her when she took her last breath.

The murder has not been resolved to this day.
